Before learning the duas, many people first try to understand the tawaf meaning and the purpose behind this beautiful act of worship. If you are worried about what to say during Tawaf, you don't have to because you don't have to say a set prayer for any round of Tawaf. The Prophet didn't assign them. You can pray about anything in your mother tongue. But if you want help focusing, using prayers from the Quran gives you a good structure. Just remember that following a guide is optional, not a command.
When you walk those seven laps (Tawaf), make sure you are praying! Why? Because it keeps your mind straight on Allah and makes you feel peaceful inside. You are following the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) by doing this. Arabic:
رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ الْوَهَّابُ
Translation:
Our Lord, do not let our hearts deviate after You have guided us. Grant us mercy from You.
The best thing a believer could ask for is the "Hidayah." This is the time to ask Allah to keep your faith strong. Ask Allah for guidance in your worship and in your everyday choices. Also, remember to thank Allah for the blessings He's already given you.
Arabic:
رَبِّ اغْفِرْ وَارْحَمْ وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الرَّاحِمِينَ
Translation:
My Lord, forgive and have mercy. You are the best of those who show mercy.
It is the time when you think about your sins and past mistakes and ask Allah to forgive you. If you are into any bad habits, ask Him to help you quit them and give you a clean, peaceful heart. Allah is very merciful. He always gives you a new chance if you keep returning to him with a pure heart.
Arabic:
رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Translation:
Our Lord, give us good in this world and in the Hereafter and protect us from the Fire.
This dua covers everything a person needs. You can make this round about asking for safety, good health, peace, and protection from any harm. You may also ask Allah to keep you safe in your faith, family, relationships, and future.
Arabic:
رَبِّ اشْرَحْ لِي صَدْرِي وَيَسِّرْ لِي أَمْرِي
Translation:
My Lord, open my chest and make my task easy for me.
When you make dua during Tawaf, it's as if you're speaking to Allah; you can tell Him about your struggles. If you feel heavy, maybe you are super stressed, or something is bothering you related to your job, family needs you, or praying is hard, tell "HIM". Allah is always near us, seeing and listening.
Arabic:
رَبِّ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا
Translation:
My Lord, have mercy on them as they raised me when I was small.
Take advantage of the moment and pray for your home team! Send your blessings to your family and best friends. Ask Allah to give them strong health, peace, and happiness. Tell Allah you want Him to look after everyone who asked you to pray, too.
Arabic:
رَبِّ إِنِّي لِمَا أَنْزَلْتَ إِلَيَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَقِيرٌ
Translation:
My Lord, I need whatever good You send down to me.
Ask for a safe, steady income and success in whatever you are trying to achieve. Ask Him to make your time and efforts fruitful. Finally, ask Him to be your shield against evil and your guide toward all that is good in your life.
Arabic:
رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّا إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
Translation:
Our Lord, accept from us. You are the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
In the final round, ask Allah to accept your Tawaf, your Umrah or Hajj, and all the prayers you made. You can also make your final personal dua for your goals, dreams, and anything else you want to leave in Allah's care.
